Sistema Italia, we tell a unique experience

Sistema Italia is a highly emotional summary of the activities carried out over the past few months jointly by staff from the Merlo Group and the Italian Army in the training areas and off-road routes of the Merlo Training and Research Centre.

A useful experience has been reported which has made it possible to verify the feasibility of synergistic use of civil and military vehicles and professionals in the event of operational needs (natural disasters, emergency interventions, etc.) that can benefit from a practical and operational point of view by a joint intervention.

During the activities, the possibilities for dialogue and understanding between the two components were tested and interventions focused on the necessary synergic actions.

All this has been made possible thanks to the availability and foresight of the military commands of the Taurinense Alpine Brigade of the Italian Army and the management of the Merlo Group. They shared an innovative project and opened new training scenarios with the aim to improve the effectiveness in the interventions of disaster relief and humanitarian relief, laying the foundations for new developments and future activities.

Highlighting the importance of this interoperability, Paolo Peretti, the Merlo Training and Research Centre director, during his speech recognized the constructive spirit of Sistema Italia and the importance of sharing its logics, especially within the mutual esteem that binds the Community and the Army.
